Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Eric was raised in a musical family. His father played viola in the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and his mother played piano and sang in the Bach-Elgar Choir. At about the same time that Eric was learning to ride a bike, he began to tinker around on the piano so his parents arranged for him to take lessons. In his early teens, Eric acquired his first electric guitar and began to teach himself the chords to the hit songs of the time. The first band he played in was called The Wyndi Beach.
Throughout his teens, Eric played lead guitar with a number of bands and also worked as a roadie for other groups. He got to meet and work with Chuck Berry, Freddy Cannon, Paul Revere And The Raiders, Ian Thomas, Bob Doidge and others. It was during this time that Eric took up the bass guitar.
After three decades working in electronics and computer engineering, Eric was encouraged to join a regular monthly jam session where he took up the bass (because everyone else was playing guitar). He has joined other bands that play the variety of music styles he enjoys including classical, rock, jazz, R&B, folk and country. For JERICHO, Eric has returned to the 6 and 12-string guitar and is learning to play the banjo.
Eric also runs Bower Audio which provides live sound reinforcement for various artists and venues throughout the Golden Horseshoe.
